CYBER OPPORTUNITY SCHOOL
Lake Hamilton High School and Lake Hamilton Junior High have been recently awarded as having Cyber Opportunity School status by CyberStart America. The Gold Award was awarded to Karma Turner and Ashley Kincannon for referring more than 40 students each for the CyberStart America program.
All students in Turner’s and Kincannon’s computer sciences classes were encouraged to solve at least twelve cyber challenges. Many students met and exceeded this challenge.
Six students completed enough challenges to qualify for the National Cyber Scholarship competition held on April 5-7, 2021. The students who qualified were Kendall House, Madison Louton, Bethany Pack, Franklin Rivera, Devon Wardwell, and Evan Welch.
CyberStart America is a 9-12th grade program designed to inspire the next generation of students to become cybersecurity experts and help grow America's cyber capable workforce by exploring their interests in cyber studies, learning core cybersecurity skills, and building confidence in problem solving.
