FIRST DIVISION RATINGS Congratulations to the Lake Hamilton 7 - 12th grade band students and directors for earning 1st division ratings during their recent assessment. Due to the pandemic, groups were given a window of time to record their music and submit it to a panel of state adjudicators for evaluation. Combined with the first division ratings from the marching season, this marks the 23rd consecutive year Lake Hamilton has earned an ASBOA Sweepstakes Award. #LHWolfNation

CHOIR CONCERT ASSESSMENT RESULTS The choir program recently participated virtually in the Choral Performance Assessment. The groups were asked to prepare 3 pieces of music following specific guidelines. The students worked hard to have an excellent performance while following COVID mask and social distancing guidelines. TRACK CLOSED The track facilities at Lake Hamilton High School will be closed to the public on Friday and Saturday, April 30 and May 1, for the State Weightlifting Competition. Facilities will re-open for public use on Sunday, May 2. #LHWolfNation

LHHS | SCHOOL ADMINISTRATOR OF THE YEAR The National Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) recently named Donald Westerman, Lake Hamilton High School principal, as the 2021 National School Administrator of the Year. Westerman was chosen for his role in helping students grow by motivating, guiding, sharing, and supporting FCCLA. The award will be formally announced during the opening session of the hybrid National Leadership Conference on June 27, 2021. #LHWolfNation

LHHS QUIZ BOWL | STATE RUNNER-UP The Lake Hamilton High School quiz bowl team finished the 2021 season as the 6A State Runner-Up after competing against Russellville in the AETN finals on April 24th. Will Livingston was the team captain and was the high point player for Lake Hamilton. Livingston and Wesley Bonner were both named to the 6A All-Tournament Team. The team is coached by Julie Mullings. SUPERINTENDENT'S STUDENT ADVISORY COUNCIL The Superintendent's Student Advisory Council met this past week at the administration building board room. The students reflected on the year and offered insights for planning for 2021-22. LHHS | GIRLS STATE Congratulations to the following Lake Hamilton High School students who have been selected to attend Arkansas Girls State for 2021: Ginny Higginbotham, Allie Norton, Natalie Tedder, Audrey Winfrey, and Hayleigh Wyrick Arkansas Girls State will be hosted virtually on May 30 – June 4, 2021. Arkansas Girls State is an immersive civics education program designed for young women who have completed their junior year of high school. Since 1942, the Arkansas Girls State program has been working to teach future generations of Arkansans citizens to be actively involved in their communities and government at every level. #LHWolfNation

NPTC OUTSTANDING STUDENT Each year, National Park Technology Center picks one outstanding student from each of their programs and awards a full tuition and fees scholarship to National Park College. Congratulations to Lake Hamilton High School senior, Nathaniel Kelley, for receiving the outstanding student scholarship for Machine Tool Technology. #LHWolfNation

ENVIRONMENTAL KINDNESS As a part of the Garland County Kindness Challenge, Lake Hamilton students and staff participated in an "Environmental Kindness" challenge last week on Earth Day. Students and staff picked up trash and litter around the school and community. #LHWolfNation

ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE HONOREES Each year, The Greater Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce and Weyerhaeuser Co. honor the top 5% of the graduating classes from all seven public school districts in Garland County, including the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences, and the Arts.  The annual banquet and recognition ceremony has been modified due to the pandemic.  Students will be honored in a special way at the Chamber of Commerce on April 29th.  Lake Hamilton students will be honored at 5:30 p.m.  Academic Excellence Honorees for the LHHS Class of 2021: Cora Ashley, Sarah Bullen, Joshua Featherston, Maddie Gilleran, Emmalee Hibbs, Paige Jennings, Autumn Johnson, Rivers Nicholas, Alexis Ogilvie, Matthew Richardson, Shelby Rowland, Sandy Santillan, Elijah Shields, Raylee Speers, Kenley Spruill #LHWolfNation
