Calendar Update! Beginning Monday, February 9, Lake Hamilton will add minutes to the school day to help recover lost instructional time. The school start time will not change. The only change is the end of the school day. Daily dismissal will now be at 3:16 PM for the remainder of the school year. Our school buses will return to normal operations on Wednesday, February 4, 2026. While most routes are clear, a few roads across the district are still not safe for bus travel.
If you live on one of these roads, please contact our Transportation Department (501-767-9393) to arrange an alternate bus stop for your child, if needed.
If your child rides the bus and you haven’t already signed up, we strongly encourage families to register for bus alerts so you can receive important transportation updates in real time 📲

Thank you for your patience this past week. Our staff has worked hard to prepare our campuses for reopening.
Unfortunately, ice and continued low temperatures are still causing unsafe conditions across many side roads, even though main roads are clear. While we considered a late start, buses would still need to travel during unsafe hours.
For the safety of our students and staff, the Lake Hamilton School District will remain closed on Monday, February 2. We understand this creates challenges for families, but we cannot risk a bus or student driver accident.
Please expect an update from the district on Tuesday's schedule by 3 pm tomorrow.

We know how disruptive school closures can be for families, and we want our students back in the classroom just as much as our parents do. Our transportation, maintenance, security, and administrative teams have been driving roads across the district. Unfortunately, many remain ice-covered and unsafe for student transportation. Even after reviewing our snow bus routes, many of those routes are still not passable at this time.
Our hope is that there will be sunshine to help improve road conditions so we can return to a regular schedule next week. We truly appreciate your patience and understanding as we make decisions with the safety of our students and staff as our top priority.
