important message

Dear Lake Hamilton Families,

Last night, many families in our district lost power, and so did our campus. District leaders were watching the situation closely, knowing a decision about school had to be made by 5:45 a.m. Power came back on at 5:26 a.m., so school started on time.

This gave us a chance to practice how we handle emergencies. In the future, we may need to delay school or even close it if power or weather causes problems. Please always have a backup plan for your family, just in case.

If school is delayed or closed for any reason, the district will:

  • Send a mass text message

  • Send an automated phone call

  • Post on the district website

  • Post on the official Lake Hamilton School District Facebook and Instagram pages

We know our district covers a large area, and sometimes families may face things like flooding or power outages even when school is open. If your child canโ€™t safely attend, please call the schoolโ€”our administrators will work with you.

We also understand that last-minute changes are hard on families. If you canโ€™t get your child to school, please let the school know when you can, and the absence will not be a problem.

There is no perfect solution when unexpected things happen, but what matters most is showing kindness, patience, and understanding as we work through these challenges together.

Thank you for your support of our students and staff.

Dr. Tony Thurman

Superintendent

Lake Hamilton School District
