GOLF HEADED TO STATE The Lake Hamilton High School golf team competed in the conference tournament yesterday at the Glenwood Country Club. Congratulations to the boys team for qualifying for the state tournament that will be held October 5th at Mystic Creek in El Dorado. On the girls team, Ginny Higginbotham and Jordyn Garner qualified individually for the girls state tournament that will be held in Glenwood this Sunday. #LHWolfNation

ARRRGH | TALK LIKE A PIRATE Lake Hamilton Middle School students in Stacy Dalton's speech-language class celebrated National "Talk Like a Pirate" day yesterday in speech therapy while working on their "R" sounds. Arrrgh, matey, the LHSD special services team is awesome! #LHWolfNation

QUIZ BOWL ON A ROLL The Lake Hamilton High School quiz bowl team went 7-0 in the Cyclone Invitational at Russellville High School this past weekend and earned first place in the 16-team tournament. Wesley Bonner, team captain, was the high point player for Lake Hamilton. The team is coached by Julie Mullings. SUPERINTENDENT'S STUDENT ADVISORY COUNCIL The Superintendent's Student Advisory Council (SSAC) met for the first time since being chosen for the council on Thursday with LHSD Superintendent, Shawn Higginbotham. The students were nominated by their teachers, and then submitted applications for consideration on the council. The students chosen as SSAC members will serve for one year and represent students in grades 6 - 12. The council provides student perspective and input on enhancing the student experience in he Lake Hamilton School District. #LHWolfNation

BOARD MEETING | 9.20.21 The Lake Hamilton School District Board of Education will meet on Monday, September 20 at 7:00 p.m. in the Lake Hamilton Administration and School Board Complex (205 Wolf Street, Pearcy, AR). View the agenda here {https://lhsd.info/Board-Meeting-Agenda}. As a reminder, face-coverings are required inside all buildings on campus. In the event the LHSD board room reaches capacity, overflow patrons may view the board meeting via live-stream inside the high school media center. Please note: the public is always invited to attend board meetings, but the meetings do not provide the opportunity for public comment, other than those that have submitted official requests. LHSD Board Meetings are conducted in a limited forum, in accordance with LHSD Board Policy (Section 1.14, https://lhsd.info/Board-Policy). Only patrons who have submitted written requests to have an item placed on the board meeting agenda to the Superintendent at least five (5) days prior to the meeting of the Board, and received approval confirmation, will be permitted to address the board during the meeting. Each approved patron will have up to ten (10) minutes to address the board. Parents and patrons may contact board members or the superintendent at any time regarding issues and concerns. CROSS COUNTRY BEGINS SEASON The Lake Hamilton Cross Country teams officially began their 2021 season this past Saturday at the Bob Gravett Invitational on the campus of Ouachita Baptist University. The senior girls, #5 in class 5A rankings, tied Lakeside, currently #1 in class 5A rankings, with 33 points, but finished second with Lakeside's 6th runner coming in front of Lake Hamilton 6th runner in a tie-breaker. The senior girls finished the day with a 4 - 1 record. The senior boys, #1 in class 5A rankings, won 1st place in the race with a low score of 25 points over 2nd place Lakeside, with 43. The senior boys finished the day with a 11-0 record and a new school record team average of 16:21.52. The junior girls took a dominating win in the 2800 meter course team race with a team low score of 18 points over 2nd place El Dorado with 74 points. The junior boys took 2nd place in the 2800 meter team race with a score of 79 points, finishing behind Benton that scored 68 points. Top 5 finishers for the teams are listed below. LHSD | LOCKDOWN The Lake Hamilton School District is currently under lockdown. Students and staff are remaining inside with all exterior doors locked. The Garland County Sheriffs Department and school security team are on-site and are in the process of removing the threat. The district will release more information regarding the lockdown as it becomes available. #LHWolfNation
