STATE CHAMPIONS
The Lake Hamilton High School boys cross country team captured the 5A Arkansas State Championship on Friday, November 5. This is the second consecutive state title for the boy's cross country team. The girls finished 3rd in the 5A classification.

LHHS | STEP WITH THE CITY
Lake Hamilton High School STEP (students transitioning to employment program) students started their new jobs with the City of Hot Springs this week. Students worked to put up Christmas lights in Arlington Park. #LHWolfNation
PBS INTERVIEW
Lake Hamilton High School senior defensive tackle, Dylan Williams, was interviewed by Arkansas PBS yesterday. The interview will air during the AAA State Football Championship games that will take place in December. #LHWolfNation

LHJH | TEACHER AWARD
The Arkansas Education Association recently awarded Lake Hamilton Junior High Computer Science Teacher, Ashley Kincannon, their AEA Teacher of the Year Award. The AEA Teacher of the Year Award recognizes, rewards, and promotes excellence in teaching and advocacy for the association. #LHWolfNation

LHES | CABBAGE PLANT CONTEST WINNER
Each year, 3rd grade students at Lake Hamilton Elementary School receive a small cabbage plant to replant and nurture throughout the spring and summer. A school winner is selected each year to enter the state contest for a chance to win a $1,000 scholarship. Congratulations to Logan Hanna for winning the Bonnie Cabbage Plant Program for LHES! His cabbage weighed in at over 7 pounds! #LHWolfNation

PARENTS NIGHT OUT
Lake Hamilton New Horizons students in Morgan Winston's class recently enjoyed a fun evening during parents night out! Students carved and painted pumpkins, played games, ate pizza, and took home some goodies! #LHWolfNation

STATE CROSS COUNTRY TICKETS
The high school state cross country championships are being held on the Oaklawn Infield today and tomorrow. The senior boy's and senior girl's will compete for the state title on Friday. Girls at 2:00 p.m. and the boys at 2:45 p.m. This is an Arkansas Activities Association event. Tickets must be purchased online {https://gofan.co/app/school/AAA}. Only AAA passes will be accepted. #LHWolfNation

LHPS | GUIDE FOR LIFE
Lake Hamilton Primary School is utilizing the Guide for Life curriculum this year to learn about the importance of social and emotional wellness.
This month, first grade students are learning about the importance of personal space in Mrs. Jordan's PE class. Students are reading "Personal Space Camp" and "Through with the Zoo" and doing activities with hula hoops to demonstrate what personal space looks like.

STATE RUNNER-UP
The Lake Hamilton High School Power Band of Arkansas competed in the Arkansas State Marching Band Championships yesterday at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock. Congratulations to the band for earning the state runner-up silver medal in the 6A division.
The state marching championships began in 2016. Lake Hamilton has earned 1st division ratings each year and has medaled in 5 of the 6 championships.
#LHWolfNation's next opportunity to see the 2021 show will be on Monday at the Grand Nationals send off performance and chili supper.

LHHS | QUIZ BOWL IN 2ND
The Lake Hamilton High School quiz bowl team went 5 - 1 at the Centerpoint Invitational Tournament last week finishing behind reigning champion, Russellville. The Wolves finished with only one fewer answered questions in the final game, to earn 2nd place for the day. Team captain, Wesley Bonner, was the high point player for Lake Hamilton. The team is coached by Julie Mullings. #LHWolfNation

BUS DRIVERS NEEDED
Lake Hamilton School District Transportation Director, Matthew Winston, recently spoke with the Arkansas Department of Education regarding the bus driver shortage in Arkansas and at Lake Hamilton. FOOD DRIVE
The Lake Hamilton School District's food drive will be held November 1 - 5, 2021. Each grade has been assigned a food item that can be brought to school during the week. Did you know the district supplies 239 students with food backpacks each Friday so the students will have something to eat over the weekend? The district also provides 50 - 55 food boxes to Lake Hamilton families each month. The Lake Hamilton Parent Center is currently in need of food for these two services. Please consider donating this week!

LHIS | SPIDERS ARE ENGINEERS
Last week, 5th grade students in Nicole Turpen's A.C.E. class designed and created spider webs after studying spiders vs. engineers. The webs were tested for weight capacity by holding rocks. Students learned about careers in engineering and the amazing world of spiders! #LHWolfNation
