FOR THE BIRDS Lake Hamilton Middle School students in Stacey Dickson's classes recently made bird feeders out of toilet paper rolls, peanut butter, and bird seed. The students hung the feeders outside of their classroom so they could watch and spot all of the different birds that visit each day through the window! #LHWolfNation

LAKE HAMILTON PRE-K REGISTRATION The Lake Hamilton School District is proud to partner with the Dawson Educational Cooperative to offer the LH Pre-K on campus! The Lake Hamilton Pre-K is the perfect place for your 4-year-old to develop a foundation and love for learning. Registration is now open for the 2021-2022 school year. ASPIRATIONS IN COMPUTING HONORS The National Center for Women and Information Technology (NCWIT) Award for Aspirations in Computing (AiC) honors 9th-12th grade students for their computing-related achievements and interests and encourages them to pursue their passions. Award recipients are selected based on their aptitude and aspirations in technology and computing, as demonstrated by their computing experience, computing-related activities, leadership experience, tenacity in the face of barriers to access, and plans for post-secondary education. Congratulations to the following girls who received Arkansas Affiliate Winner Recognition: Taylor Alred, Kaylee Altamirano, Nancy Altamirano, McKenzie Crumpton, Colleen Miller, and Leianna Netterville.  The following girls received the National Certificate of Distinction: Madison Louton, Annie Mayberry, Yadira Morales, and Susy Rios. SELECTED TO ATTEND CONFERENCE Four Lake Hamilton Junior High computer science students (Jenny Dong, Gabrielle Gilliam, Kaitlin Guthrie, and Anna Allgier) recently applied and were selected to attend the Girls of Promise Conference. Girls of Promise® is an initiative of the Women’s Foundation of Arkansas, which aims to help women & girls reach their full economic potential. Girls of Promise® exposes girls to opportunities and mentors in STEAM fields with the goal of increasing the number of women in higher-level STEAM courses, careers, and putting them on the path to achieve economic security as women. #LHWolfNation

DEADLINE TO REGISTER: MARCH 12 The Lake Hamilton School District will provide no-cost bulk meals for children 18 years and younger during Spring Break via drive-through pick up. In order to prepare the appropriate number of bulk meals, registration is required​ (http://lhsd.info/Spring-Break-Bulk-Meal-Registration) Bulk meal drive through pick up will take place on Friday, March 19, between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. behind the high school cafeteria. 7 breakfasts and 7 lunches will be provided for each child that is 18 years or younger in the household. The registration deadline for the Spring Break bulk meals is Friday, March 12. #LHWolfNation
