teachers of the year

The Lake Hamilton School District is proud to announce that Holli Hightower has been named the 2025–2026 District Teacher of the Year, revealed during a special surprise announcement on campus.

Mrs. Hightower, a dyslexia interventionist at Lake Hamilton Intermediate School, was surrounded by her students and colleagues when the announcement was made. She was also joined by her husband and son, making the moment even more meaningful.

With 16 years of teaching experience, Mrs. Hightower works closely with fourth- and fifth-grade students to strengthen reading and spelling skills while building confidence in learners who have often faced academic challenges.

What truly sets Mrs. Hightower apart is her purpose-driven approach to teaching. Through explicit, structured instruction and strong relationships, she meets each student where they are and helps them grow into confident, capable readers. She goes beyond the classroom by connecting families to their child’s learning and providing meaningful resources to support continued growth at home.

One of the most impactful aspects of her work is witnessing students begin to believe in themselves, transforming from frustration to confidently saying, “I am a reader.” This kind of growth extends far beyond academics and creates lasting change in the lives of her students.

Because of her dedication, compassion, and unwavering commitment to student success, Mrs. Hightower represents the very best of Lake Hamilton. She will now go on to represent the district in the Arkansas Teacher of the Year program.

The Lake Hamilton School District congratulates Mrs. Hightower on this well-deserved honor and celebrates the incredible impact she makes each day in the lives of her students.
