The Lake Hamilton School District is proud to announce that Dr. Heath Miller, Director of the Lake Hamilton New Horizons Alternative Education Program, has been named President of the Arkansas Association of Alternative Educators (AAAE).
Dr. Miller was elected to this leadership role during the organizationโs summer conference in July. A dedicated educator with 26 years of experience, he has served in a variety of roles throughout his career, including teacher, coach, dean of students, assistant principal, principal, and Director of Alternative Education.
At Lake Hamilton, Dr. Miller leads the New Horizons Alternative Education Program, which provides innovative, personalized learning environments to help students succeed both academically and personally. His leadership emphasizes structure, support, and flexibility to ensure that all students have the tools they need to thrive.
AAAE colleagues describe Dr. Miller as a โphenomenal educatorโ and a strong leader who has already been a blessing to the organizationโs board. The outgoing president noted, โI couldnโt have handed it over to a more qualified person. Dr. Miller is not only a colleague, but also a friend, and Iโm excited to see the direction he will lead the association.โ
The Arkansas Association of Alternative Educators works to support and strengthen alternative education programs across the state, providing professional development, resources, and advocacy for educators and administrators.
The Lake Hamilton School District congratulates Dr. Miller on this well-deserved honor and looks forward to the positive impact his leadership will bring to students, educators, and communities across Arkansas.
