The Lake Hamilton School District Board of Education approved the hiring of Christy Ruffin as the next elementary school assistant principal during the board meeting held on Monday, April 21, 2025.

With more than 20 years of experience in education, Ruffin has served the Lake Hamilton School District in a variety of impactful roles, including as a third-grade teacher, computer science teacher at both the middle and high school levels, and leader of multiple instructional initiatives.

Ruffin is known for her passion for student success, her ability to inspire innovation in the classroom, and her commitment to building a collaborative school culture. She has led initiatives such as Genius Hour, STEM Wars, the Wolf Technology Showcase, and a summer STEAM Camp for students in grades 2-5. In addition to her classroom leadership, Ruffin has presented at local, state, and international conferences and webinars on topics including technology integration, STEM, and best practices in education.
