LH Pre-K Receives Level 6 Rating

The Lake Hamilton Pre-K has received the Better Beginnings Star Level 6, the highest rating possible for a pre-k. This achievement showcases the staff's commitment to providing high-quality child care to children and families in the Lake Hamilton School District and was accomplished after many hours of professional development by facility staff.

“LHSD partnered with the Dawson Educational Co-op in 2017 to create an early childhood program for 4-year-olds in our district. We are proud of how this partnership has grown and developed into a recognized Pre-K program. Lake Hamilton Pre-K teachers and staff work tirelessly to create a safe and nurturing learning environment for students and help prepare them for future academic and personal success. We are thrilled with this 6-star Better Beginnings designation!” said Renae Carrouth, LHSD Early Childhood Coordinator.

Better Beginnings is a program of the Arkansas Department of Human Services Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Education focused on giving children the best quality care. The program gives childcare providers a star rating, indicating the facility’s quality level. Access to high-quality child care brings economic benefits to communities. It helps working parents be more productive at work and fosters economic development.

“Better Beginnings providers enable the children in their care to be their best selves and discover their highest potential,” said Better Beginnings Program Administrator Kelli Hilburn. “Providers like the Lake Hamilton Pre-K are great partners in our mission to ensure all children in Arkansas have the highest-quality care possible.”
