Y.E.S. COMPETITION Lake Hamilton Gifted and Talented students have been offered virtual and onsite opportunities this year. The students chose a project related to their own interests. The sixth grade group (pictured) chose to compete in the Youth Entrepreneur Showcase (Y.E.S.) project sponsored by Arkansas Capital Corporation. The Y.E.S. competition is a project where students write a business plan, create a product, and explain how to produce, sell and promote their product. This group of students chose to start a business called Split Snack. It is a plastic bag to hold more than one snack. They also researched plastic waste and how their product may help in slowing waste. Each year at the Arkansans for Gifted and Talented Education conference the winners of the competition display their products. STAFF SHOUTOUT Each day, we will share a staff shoutout that's been received by the district. Each staff member that receives a staff shoutout submission receives a "staff shoutout card" with the message. You can submit a staff shoutout by clicking this link: https://lhsd.info/Staff-ShoutOuts Today, the staff shoutout is to Megan Greeson at the middle school: "Mrs.Greeson has been a very great teacher during this time! She’s been one of the best virtual teachers. She always is super interactive and the experiments she does are things most of us have on hand and can share it later with our families! She’s always really understanding and very easy to communicate with! She’s just all around a very fun teacher!" -Preslee Spradlin (LHMS Student) #LHWolfNation
