LAKE HAMILTON CROSS COUNTRY! The Lake Hamilton Cross Country teams travelled up to Conway Saturday to compete in the Wampus Cat Invitational hosted by Conway school district at Beaver fork State Park. The Senior girls got things kicked off in an early start in the senior girls 5k division. The Lake Hamilton girls were sporting a new look with freshman Audrey Herrell and Lani Inman promoted up from the junior high girls team to make their senior high debut. The addition of these two young ladies with the current group of senior high girls made a great combination as the Lake Hamilton ladies pulled off the team win with a low score of 46 pts. 20 fewer than second place 6A Conway with 66pts. The girls finished with an 8-0 record for the day and moved their season total to a record of 26-3. The Senior girls were led once again by junior Olivia Pielemeier who continued her individual dominance by running alone after the first quarter mile and taking 1st place in the senior girls race in 18:21.4 which was more than a minute faster than 2nd place Brooklyn Nicholson of Russellville in 19:42.9. Pielemeier’s time breaks her previous school record she set at the Bob Gravett Invitational by 21 seconds, and she continues to lead all classifications combined and class 5A with the top time in the state this fall for senior girls. Behind Pielemeier freshman Audrey Herell took 4th place overall in the race with 19:56.8 to take 2nd place on the team. Senior Maylin Reyes took 13th place in 21:10.4, freshman Lani Inman was 15th in 21:26.1, and junior Blair Turpen rounded out the top five for the lady Wolves taking 16th place in 21:32.0.
