8th GRADE CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION EXPLORATION All 8th grade students participated in a CTE Exploration on Tuesday, October 5th. Each group rotated to eleven different Career and Technical classrooms. Each session was led by high school students in that program area. 8th grade students learned about technical skills, certifications, work based learning opportunities, competitions, and career opportunities embedded within each of the Lake Hamilton CTE programs. The sessions consisted of: Agriculture Science and Technology A/V Tech and Film Business and Marketing Culinary Arts/Food Production Human and Social Services- Child Care Guidance Computer Science Construction Technology EAST and Photography JROTC Sports Medicine This career exploration opportunity will help students identify which CTE program of study will best fit their future college and career plans. CTE programs at Lake Hamilton equip students with academic and technical skills and serve as a transition from high school to college and career. #LHWolfNation

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE LAKE HAMILTON POWER BAND OF ARKANSAS! This past Saturday, Lake Hamilton competed with 20 bands from both Arkansas and Texas at the 10th annual Championship at the Rock, held at War Memorial Stadium. In preliminary competition, Lake Hamilton earned Outstanding Color Guard in Class A, Outstanding Musical Performance in Class A, Outstanding General Effect in Class A, and placed 1st in Class A. During finals competition, Lake Hamilton earned Outstanding Visual Performance, Outstanding Musical Performance, and Outstanding General Effect, as well as the high color guard score of the day. Lake Hamilton was crowned the Grand Champion for the 10th consecutive year. Thank you to our Lake Hamilton family for the support our students and program receive, it is unparalleled! We would also like to say a special thank you to our team of parent volunteers who feed the band and work with our props! You all truly went above and beyond to help ensure our students' success this weekend. #LHWolfNation

ALL-REGION HONOR CHOIR Lake Hamilton Choir Students competed individually against hundreds of students from southern Arkansas for a spot in the All-Region Honor Choir. Over 30 schools and 1500 students auditioned on prepared pieces of music and selected through a blind-judging process for a chance to participate in the honor choir. 69 Lake Hamilton Junior/Senior High students competed with 43 students selected. STUDENTS OF THE WEEK - OCTOBER 14 Kendall House and Ryan Cengiz Kendall, nominated by Ms. Field, is an outstanding helper in the library. She is dependable and very responsible. She displays a respectful and positive attitude. Ryan, nominated by Ms. Holden, is always reliable and dedicated. He works hard and is always on task. He received a higher score by mistake, and he informed the teacher of their error demonstrating that honesty is very important for him. Students are nominated by their teachers every week for their remarkable actions as leaders, role models, volunteers; their kindness, their dedication, and their sense of community. DANCE TEAMS WIN The Lake Hamilton Junior High Dancin' Wolves and Lake Hamilton High School Steppin' Wolves attended the Southern Spirit Federation Dance Competition this past Saturday. Big congratulations to both teams for bringing home the 1st place trophy in each of their divisions! Additionally, the junior high team was awarded the judges' choice for spirit raising routine and the high school team was awarded the judges' choice for the performance routine. #LHWolfNation

CREATIVE CRAFTS High school students had a chance to use chemical reactions to create shirt designs in the library this past week. Students created bleach designs on t-shirts with a Halloween theme. #LHWolfNation

LHHS EAST Students have spent the week designing and creating Halloween costumes for NICU babies at UAMS as part of a community service project. The group made 20 costumes that will be available to the infants at the hospital to dress up and celebrate Halloween later this month. #LHWolfNation

PSAT TESTING Lake Hamilton High School Students take the PSAT/NMSQT Assessment Over 70 students took the PSAT/NMSQT Assessment on Wednesday, October 13, 2021. Arkansas Department of Education provides the PSAT free for sophomores. LHHS had over a dozen juniors take the assessment to enter the National Merit Scholarship Competition, which could qualify them for college scholarships. A special thank you to Center Fork Baptist Church for hosting our students for testing. #LHWolfNation

QUANITATIVE LITERACY CASINO DAY! Mrs. Hrvatin’s Quantitative Literacy students held their 3rd Annual Casino Day. The students created games of chance to showcase their knowledge of probability and statistics. Students and teachers were invited to join the fun. A great time was had by all! #LHWolfNation

LHHS | CROSS COUNTRY The Lake Hamilton High School cross country teams traveled to Conway last weekend to compete in the Wampus Cat Invitational. Congratulations to the teams on the following finishes: Senior Girls: 1st Place. Senior Boys: 1st Place. Junior Girls: 4th Place. Junior Boys: 6th Place. Big congratulations to Olivia Pielemeier for taking 1st in the girls race in 18:21.4 which broke her previous school record by 21 seconds! #LHWolfNation
