Dear Sixth and Seventh-grade parents,
It has been said that March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb. I’m not so sure that is true when it comes to LHMS! March is busy all month long. The LHMS March Activity Calendar was emailed. We have a lot going on–sports activities, choir activities, and an ATLAS summative test.
Speaking of the ATLAS test, our Writing Test dates are March 7th for sixth grade and March 8th for seventh graders. This test is untimed and your child will have as much time as he/she needs to finish; however, tests cannot be stopped and restarted on a different date. Please keep this in mind when scheduling appointments.
LHMS scheduling conferences for the 2024-2025 school year will be held on April 5th. Our sixth graders going into seventh grade will have their scheduling conferences at LHMS. Seventh-grade scheduling conferences will take place at LHJH.
Here are a few things to start considering for our students entering 7th grade:
AAA sports (football, volleyball, cross country, basketball and track & field)*
band &/or choir (w/ All-Region Award opportunities)*
Likewise, here are considerations for students entering 8th grade:
High School Credit Courses Available (Algebra I, Survey of Business, JROTC, & Spanish I)**

*Please remember that there are eligibility guidelines that must be followed for these activities.
**This might be a topic to discuss with your child’s current teachers during P/T Conferences.
Spring parent-teacher conferences will be on March 12th and 14th. Each day conferences will run from 3:30 to 6:30. LHMS students will have their Science Fair displays up during the March 12th conferences. Please keep in mind that Mr. Scott, Mr. Lyons, and Mrs. Key drive an afternoon bus route and will not be back on campus until 4:30-5:00.
For the month of February the students chose Mrs. Strong as our LHMS Feature Teacher.
