LHJH PLC CELEBRATION
Today the Junior High celebrated the last three years of hard work involving the PLC process! All our staff has put in the time and effort to ensure that students have the best education possible! The Junior High was named a Model PLC School! Congratulations to all of the LHJH staff, a big thank you to our staff that put this on, our Principal, Jason Selig, and all guest and administration for joining us!

Ms. Calico is the LHJH Teacher of the Year! Our administrator, Jason Selig, surprised her during a PLC Celebration Ceremony with the news this morning! Ms. Calico's peers nominated her for going above and beyond in the classroom. Our building is lucky to have you! Congratulations Darah Calico, Teacher of the Year 2023!

MECHANICAL & ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVES
Students in Mrs. Greeson's 9th-grade physical science classes are learning about mechanical and electromagnetic waves. This week they are constructing models to demonstrate how sound waves travel through different mediums.

FUTURE ENGINEER CLASS CHATS PROGRAM
Mr. Launius's computer science students were recently visited (virtually) by engineers and computer programmers from Amazon through Amazon's Future Engineer Class Chats program.
Two of these engineers are from outside the United States and brought new cultural insights along with their engineering expertise. Students were able to interview their guest speakers once they finished the presentation to find out more about a typical day working at Amazon, the engineer's connections with Jeffrey Bezos, and how the leadership principles of the company shape work.
This experience opened students' eyes to the career opportunities that are connected to computer science and software/hardware engineering.
