READING CHARLIE MAY SIMON AWARD WINNING BOOKS Wow! Fourth grader, McKinley Selig, just did something awesome! She completed ALL 15 books on the Charlie May Simon Reading List! The Charlie May Simon Children’s Book Award for children’s literature is selected through a vote taken by Arkansas school children in grades four, five and six. To be able to vote in the library in April, they must read at least three of the books from the list first. McKinley is the first LHIS student to ever read every single book on the list, so we thought she needed a special prize, even though she didn't know she would get one. #LHWolfNation

VIRTUAL MAKERSPACES Since we are not able to do hands-on makerspaces due to COVID, students in the library this week are enjoying working on virtual makerspaces. A makerspace is a collaborative work space inside a school or library for making, learning, exploring and sharing that uses high tech to no tech tools. #LHWolfNation

NON AUTHORIZED SOLICITATION Sports Media Advertising, also known as Sports Media Marketing and Boost Sports, has been falsely claiming to be affiliated or working on behalf of the Lake Hamilton School District to raise funds for our athletic teams and school groups. The Lake Hamilton School District has not partnered with Sports Media Advertising. Sports Media Advertising is not authorized to solicit funds on behalf of the Lake Hamilton School District. The District has made multiple attempts to contact Sports Media Advertising regarding this issue and has learned that the company has an F rating with the Better Business Bureau. To date, Sports Media Advertising has not responded to the Better Business Bureaus' request to address the issues and disputes, nor have they responded to the request of the Lake Hamilton School District to stop soliciting funds in our community. 4-12TH GRADE FLEXIBLE FRIDAY UPDATE ​4 - 12th grade students have had the option to attend school onsite or online on Fridays. The Flexible Friday option will continue into 2021 for 4 - 12th grade students until further notice. K - 3rd grade students will continue their normal schedule and will not participate in Flexible Fridays. #LHWolfNation
