PROCEDURAL WRITING REWARD These students in Ms. Thornton's first-grade class worked hard on their last procedural writing Common Summative Assessment. Based on the scoring rubric they scored all 2’s and 3’s (meeting and exceeding), which earned them a Sonic treat from Mrs. Thornton! They picked a drink of their choice! Good job guys! #LHWolfNation

LOVE IS IN THE AIR Valentines and friendships can be found all over the Primary School today. #LHWolfNation

LAYERED HEART ART First-grade students are learning about the artist J. Goldcrown in Ms. Stallman's art class. They are creating layered hearts with chalk, just like some of his paintings. #LHWolfNation

PERFECT ATTENDANCE Ms. Lynch's class is the first class to have 10 days of perfect attendance. Today, they earned a Blow Pop Sucker party! #LHWolfNation

CUB CLUB AND ALPHA PACK Congratulations to our LHPS Alpha Pack for January! These students were selected by their teacher for having outstanding character and doing all things the "Wolf Way." #LHWolfNation

ALL ABOUT POLAR BEARS Mrs. Bledsoe's kindergarten class loved learning all about polar bears. #LHWolfNation

COMMUNITY HELPERS Mrs. Leigh Cobb, with the Hot Springs Police Department Dispatchers, came to speak to Mrs. Oglesby, Mrs. Moore, Ms. Hembree, and Mrs. Jackson's kindergarten classes. They have been learning about different community helpers and Mrs. Leigh came to tell them all about her important job! #LHWolfNation

Due to the predicted inclement weather, the Lake Hamilton School District will not hold onsite instruction and will utilize an AMI day on Tuesday, January 31, 2023. AMI days are approved by the Arkansas Department of Education and count as instructional days. All students are required to complete assignments through their learning management systems: SeeSaw (grades K - 5) and Canvas (grades 6 - 12) in order to be counted as present for the AMI day on Tuesday. The LHSD understands some students may be without access to the internet and/or electricity. As listed in the AMI plan approved by the Arkansas Department of Education, Lake Hamilton students have up to five (5) days following the return to onsite instruction to submit assignments. Please contact your child's teacher(s) with any questions related to AMI assignments and expectations.

DONUTS FOR GOALS Students in Ms. Moore's kindergarten class were rewarded with a donut treat after ALL students met their reading testing goal! Congratulations! #LHWolfNation

LEARNING TO TYPE Primary school students are beginning to learn keyboarding in Computer Lab. First graders are learning about proper finger placement and the functions of other keys. Kindergarteners are learning to recognize the letters on a keyboard and where to find them. #LHWolfNation

READING FLUENCY Students in Ms. Carrouth's first grade class use several fun activities to practice their reading skills and build fluency. #LHWolfNation

STICKER SOUNDS In small group work, students in Ms. Avery's kindergarten class are working on beginning sounds and labeling full words. They love getting stickers, so they used them to practice the skill by writing the beginning sound of the sticker they chose. Some groups extended the skill by sounding out the entire word! #LHWolfNation
