LEAF STUDY
Ms. Nash's kindergarten class has been learning about fall and leaves this week. The students brought leaves from home and worked in groups to compare their leaves. Then they sorted their leaves based on color, size and shape.

GO GOLD ON FRIDAY
#GoGold for #WolfFanFriday tomorrow! The Wolves will host the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. in Wolf Stadium. Both schools have teamed up to "Go Gold" for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month!

A GAME OF SWAT
Ms. Avery's kindergarten class enjoyed playing a game of Swat in their small group time to practice letter recognition.

MIXED UP ALPHABE
Students in Ms. Hall's first grade class worked with partners during their ABC unit, to sort a mixed up alphabet and put it in order.

RETELLING A STORY
Students in Mrs. Wornick’s first grade class practiced retelling the story “Martha Speaks” with a partner. Before retelling the story, students used pictures to put the main story events in order.

LOCKDOWN LIFTED
The Lake Hamilton School District has returned to normal operations. The lockdown has been lifted. An individual on campus was making threatening remarks and showing aggressive behavior to school staff. The Garland County Sherriff's Department and school security team immediately responded to the situation. The individual is no longer on the Lake Hamilton School District campus and is in the custody of the GCSD.

LHSD | LOCKDOWN
The Lake Hamilton School District is currently under lockdown. Students and staff are remaining inside with all exterior doors locked. The Garland County Sheriffs Department and school security team are on-site and are in the process of removing the threat. The district will release more information regarding the lockdown as it becomes available.

READ, WHITE AND BLUE
The last two weeks, the LH first graders have been studying and discussing 9/11 in the library. This week after reading, 30,000 Stitches a story about the restoration of the Twin Towers’ American flag, by Amanda Davis, students designed a read, white, or blue piece to create a heart felt tribute to America and our everyday heroes. Their pride and patriotism was over abundant. The flags were proudly displayed during the 9-11 Memorial Parade and are now hanging at the primary school for all to enjoy.

ROADS CLOSED DURING PARADE
The 9.11.01 Remembrance Parade begins at 1:30 p.m. today. Sections of Oakbrook, Adam Brown, and Wolf Street will be blocked off during the parade. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we honor and remember 9.11.01. #LHWolfNation


HELPING OTHERS
Ms. Thornton's first grade class has been learning about September 11th. They read the book "Fireboat" about the John. J. Harvey, and discussed what it means to help others. The students crafted the John J. Harvey and wrote about a time that they were able to help someone in need.

RED WHITE AND BLUE
Tomorrow is a special #WolfFanFriday. Everyone in #LHWolfNation is encouraged to wear red, white, and blue as we honor and remember the lives lost and the brave first responders who put their lives on the line on 9.11.01. LEARNING ABOUT SHADOWS
Ms. Meeks first grade class has been earning about shadows and how the sun's angle and time of day can move shadows.

LHPS would like to welcome Ms. Makenna Sisson this semester. Ms. Sisson is a graduate of Lake Hamilton and the daughter of Ms. Rather, Primary School Resource Teacher. She will be working with the Speech/Language Pathologists as she finishes her last clinical for Graduate School.

COLOR SORTING
After reading the book "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?", Ms. A. Rhodes' kindergarten class colored things the same color as they were in the book and then sorted M&Ms by color to practice color recognition.
