WOLVES HEALTH CLINIC ​The Lake Hamilton School District will be opening an on-campus health clinic this month for students and staff. The District has partnered with Healthstar Physicians of Hot Springs to operate the Lake Hamilton Wolves Health Clinic. The school-based health clinic will be housed in an existing building on campus, located behind the high school tennis courts at 201 Wild Wolf Park Street. The building is in the final stages of remodeling with the goal of opening in mid to late February of 2021. FIRST PLACE QUIZ BOWL The Lake Hamilton Junior High quiz bowl team recently earned first place in the AGQBA 6A regional virtual tournament hosted by Searcy. Easton Smith was the team's high-point player and was named to the all-tournament team, averaging 102.50 points per game. Thor Seay and Max Grisham also qualified for the all-tournament team. The Lake Hamilton School District has not partnered with Sports Media Advertising. Sports Media Advertising is not authorized to solicit funds on behalf of the Lake Hamilton School District. The District has made multiple attempts to contact Sports Media Advertising regarding this issue and has learned that the company has an F rating with the Better Business Bureau. To date, Sports Media Advertising has not responded to the Better Business Bureaus' request to address the issues and disputes, nor have they responded to the request of the Lake Hamilton School District to stop soliciting funds in our community. COMPUTER SCIENCE EDUCATION WEEK Computer Science Education Week is an annual event to celebrate the contributions of students, teachers, and partners to the field. The week is held in recognition of the birthday of Admiral Grace Murray Hopper, who invented the first compiler and coined the term “bug” (an error in a program) after removing an actual moth from a computer in 1947. During Computer Science Education Week, December 7 - 11, the Lake Hamilton Computer Science Honor Society sponsored activities and prizes for students in 7th-12th grade. The Lake Hamilton Computer Science Honor Society received a grant from the Computer Science Teachers Association made possible by partners at Infosys Foundation USA.
