Lake Hamilton High School is excited to announce its first-ever Poetry Out Loud Competition, taking place on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at 3:45 PM in the Theatre Studio. The event is free to participate in and open to students in grades 9–12.
Poetry Out Loud is a national poetry recitation program supported by the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with state arts agencies, including the Arkansas Arts Council. The program encourages students to explore classic and contemporary poetry through performance, helping them build confidence, communication skills, and a deeper appreciation for literature.
Students who advance from the school competition may move on to the state level, with opportunities to advance to the national competition. Cash prizes are awarded at both the state and national levels.
Students interested in participating or learning more should contact Tonya Reck at tonya.reck@lhwolves.net and click the registration link to sign up.
We look forward to celebrating student voices and creativity at this exciting new event!
