solar eclipse

All Lake Hamilton School District buildings and offices will be closed on Monday, April 8, 2024, for the total solar eclipse. With school out, this is a great opportunity for families to experience this once-in-a-lifetime event together.

Eclipse Glasses

Eye safety is important while viewing a solar eclipse. The Sun’s ultraviolet (UV) rays can cause irreparable damage to a person’s unprotected eyes within seconds! For this reason, precautions are necessary while viewing the eclipse.

Each student will receive a pair of eclipse glasses leading up to the event. Schools will distribute the glasses to each student. Big thanks to the Garland County Library and Dawson Educational Cooperative for providing the glasses to our students and staff.
