ST. PATRICK'S DAY CELEBRATION Lake Hamilton's Alpha Pack invites LHHS students and staffulty to help us celebrate St. Patrick's Day on Wednesday, March 17th. Join us as we hold costume/dress up contests, St. Patrick's Day Trivia, and games during both lunches. Prizes will be awarded for: *Contest/Dress Up Contest Categories -The WIN (3rd period) class with the most participation (bonus points for Advisor participation). -Student wearing the largest number of green items/clothing. -Staffulty wearing the largest number of green items/clothing. *St. Patrick's Day Trivia *$1 Games during Lunch (Students and Staffulty encouraged to participate) *Tresure Hunt All proceeds will go to making more events like this possible. ASPIRATIONS IN COMPUTING HONORS The National Center for Women and Information Technology (NCWIT) Award for Aspirations in Computing (AiC) honors 9th-12th grade students for their computing-related achievements and interests and encourages them to pursue their passions. Award recipients are selected based on their aptitude and aspirations in technology and computing, as demonstrated by their computing experience, computing-related activities, leadership experience, tenacity in the face of barriers to access, and plans for post-secondary education. Congratulations to the following girls who received Arkansas Affiliate Winner Recognition: Taylor Alred, Kaylee Altamirano, Nancy Altamirano, McKenzie Crumpton, Colleen Miller, and Leianna Netterville.  The following girls received the National Certificate of Distinction: Madison Louton, Annie Mayberry, Yadira Morales, and Susy Rios. DEADLINE TO REGISTER: MARCH 12 The Lake Hamilton School District will provide no-cost bulk meals for children 18 years and younger during Spring Break via drive-through pick up. In order to prepare the appropriate number of bulk meals, registration is required​ (http://lhsd.info/Spring-Break-Bulk-Meal-Registration) Bulk meal drive through pick up will take place on Friday, March 19, between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. behind the high school cafeteria. 7 breakfasts and 7 lunches will be provided for each child that is 18 years or younger in the household. The registration deadline for the Spring Break bulk meals is Friday, March 12. #LHWolfNation

TEAM BUILDING TRIP This past Saturday LHHS soccer team made their yearly team building trip up Sharptop mountain. It's a time for the team to suffer through some pretty rugged terrain to make it to the top where they share, as a team, what things they would like to leave behind while moving forward during the season. #LHHS #LHWolfNation #MakeItCount

WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP SEMI-FINALIST Congratulations to the Lake Hamilton Indoor Winds (LHIW) for being named a WGI World Championship Semi-Finalist in virtual competition week 2! LHIW submitted a recording of their 2021 program 'Retro Replay' for consideration, and placed 2nd in their round, advancing to the semi-final round. LHIW is a 2018 WGI A Class World Champion, and a 2019 WGI Open Class Silver Medalist. The next chance to see the LH Indoor Winds ensemble will be April 10th, at the Arkansas Marching Arts Association Greenwood competition. #LHWolfNation

WRESTLING WOLVES AT STATE The Lake Hamilton High School Wrestling Wolves competed at the 5A State Wrestling Championship last week at UALR. Congratulations to the boys team for finishing 3rd place overall. NOW HIRING JROTC Senior Army Instructor: Must have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university. Noncommissioned officers must be retired from the Army in grades E-6 through E-9. Officers must be retired from the Army in the grades of W-1 through W-5 or O-3 through O-6. Must be pre-screened and certified by US Army Cadet Command prior to applying for this position. Successful teaching experience in Army JROTC is preferred. The Senior Army Instructor (SAI) directs, coordinates, and supervises the U.S. Army Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) Program in the high school to which assigned in accordance with the law, policies, and directives of the U.S. Army, and the School Principal, ensuring all program objectives are met.
