On Tuesday, May 3. Lake Hamilton Seniors will participate in a Financial Reality Fair sponsored by community partners. A Financial Reality Fair is an interactive financial literacy program for high school students. This program gives students the opportunity to experience real-life financial challenges that they will face as they become adults. Students choose a career and receive a starting salary. They must complete a budget sheet to live within their means while paying for everyday costs such as housing, utilities, transportation, clothing, food, and even child care. Our community partners play the part of the vendors providing these services to the students. Students must decide what costs to cut and what is needed to stay on budget. Once they have visited all vendor tables and have finished compiling their monthly expenses, they will sit with a credit counselor to make sure they are able to balance their budget. Seniors must participate in the Financial Reality Fair on May 3rd in order to participate in the Senior Send-off on May 6th.
On Wednesday, May 4th, LH Seniors will be learning through an Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) day. Seniors will be working from home on assignments in Canvas.
Lake Hamilton Juniors will be learning through an Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) day on Tuesday, May 3rd. Juniors will be working from home on assignments in Canvas.
On Wednesday, May 4, LH Juniors will take part in business/industry/college tours to explore post-high school opportunities in the region. Juniors will have the opportunity to sign -up for one of several tours that will look at different industries and post-secondary education options. Participation in a business/industry/college tour is required in order for students to participate in the Junior Takeover on May 23.
Lake Hamilton Sophomores will take the ACT Aspire Test on the mornings of Tuesday, May 3rd and Wednesday, May 4th.
