A2A SCHOLARSHIP PARENT NIGHT

College credit while still in high school — with $0 in tuition, fees, and books!

Lake Hamilton School District is inviting students and families to learn about an exciting opportunity to earn college credit before high school graduation through the Arkansas A2A (ACCESS to Acceleration) Scholarship.

Two Parent Information Nights will be held at Lake Hamilton High School on Tuesday, October 13, and Thursday, October 15, giving families an opportunity to learn how students in grades 9–12 can take college courses while still attending high school, with tuition, fees, and books covered through state-supported funding.

Families of current eighth-grade students are also encouraged to attend and begin planning for the opportunities available when their students enter high school.

What Is the A2A Scholarship?

The A2A Scholarship is a state-funded program designed to help eligible Arkansas high school students earn college credit through concurrent enrollment.

Through Lake Hamilton's partnership with National Park College, eligible students can take college-level courses that count toward both high school and college credit.

Under Arkansas's concurrent enrollment funding policies, families pay $0 for tuition, fees, and books for covered courses.

Why Should Families Attend?

During the information sessions, families will learn:

  • Who qualifies for the A2A Scholarship and how students can get started.

  • How qualifying ACT or ACCUPLACER scores can open the door to college courses.

  • How students can earn high school and college credit simultaneously.

  • How concurrent credit opportunities can support pathways toward a Diploma with Merit or Diploma with Distinction.

  • How advanced academic opportunities may help students prepare for future scholarships, including the Arkansas Academic Challenge and Governor's Scholars programs.

The sessions will also explain the expectations of taking college-level courses and the support available to Lake Hamilton students as they prepare for college success.

Start Planning for Your Student's Future

Students do not have to wait until graduation to begin working toward their college goals. With the right planning, qualifying students can begin earning college credits as early as ninth grade, potentially reducing the number of courses they need to complete after high school.

Families interested in learning more or taking the first step can complete the Concurrent Credit Request to Register Form.

We encourage Lake Hamilton families to attend one of these informative sessions and discover how today's opportunities can help prepare students for tomorrow's success.
