high school march info

Dear 10th–12th Grade Parents,

Welcome to the month of March.  It is an important time as we prepare for several key events coming up this spring. We are officially in the second semester, and the weeks ahead will move quickly.

On March 10th, we will conduct whole-school testing.

  • 10th grade students will take the ACT.

  • 11th grade students will take the ACT or SAT, depending on the option they previously selected.

    • March 12th is for the students who chose to take the Classic Learning Test.

  • 12th grade students will complete their ACT WorkKeys testing.

It is critical that each student arrive with a fully charged Chromebook. Testing regulations do not allow students to charge their device during the exam session. If your student is having difficulty getting his or her device charged, please have them reach out to me prior to test day so we can assist.

On March 17th, we will host Student Success Plan conferences for all 10th and 11th grade students. Please make sure you have signed up for a conference with your student’s advisor through ParentSquare. Parents should arrive with their student and may enter either through the main office entrance or through the back parking lot entrance by the cafeteria. Once you make your way to the cafeteria, you will find your child’s advisor ready for your scheduled conference time. We will also have designated stations available if you have additional questions about your student’s academic plan or course pathway.

On this same day, all 12th graders are encouraged to visit a college or trade school campus or participate in a job shadow experience aligned with a career pathway they are considering after graduation.  Also an option for them is 6 hours of community service of their choosing to meet this requirement.

March 23–27 is Spring Break. We hope everyone enjoys a well-deserved break and returns refreshed and ready for a busy stretch to finish the year strong.

For our senior parents, we ask for your partnership during this time. The weeks after Spring Break can be the most challenging for seniors, as some begin to feel like they are already finished with high school. Please help us reinforce the importance of continued attendance, completing assignments, and maintaining grades. A drop in performance during this time can impact eligibility to participate in the commencement ceremony and other senior activities.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership. We look forward to a strong and successful spring semester.
