The Lake Hamilton School District would like to share an important update to the 2025–26 school calendar following the winter weather we experienced earlier this year. Due to snow, the district missed six instructional days, and state requirements mandate that this time be made up.
Beginning Monday, February 9, Lake Hamilton will add minutes to the school day to help recover lost instructional time.
What Families Need to Know
The school start time will NOT change.
The only change is the end of the school day.
Daily dismissal will now be at 3:16 PM.
By adding a small amount of instructional time to each day, the district is able to make up three of the six missed days without extending the school year. Starting this change now allows the additional minutes to be spread out rather than adding more time later or adding extra days at the end of the year.
How the Six Missed Days Will Be Made Up
February 16 – Inclement Weather Make-Up Day
March 20 – Inclement Weather Make-Up Day
April 17 – Inclement Weather Make-Up Day
The remaining three days will be made up through the added instructional minutes each day.
As long as no additional school days are missed due to weather, the last day of school will remain Friday, May 22.
Thank you for your continued support, flexibility, and partnership as we work to provide meaningful instructional time for our students while minimizing disruption to families.
