Dear Parents and Guardians of Grades 10–12 Students,
As we head into the holiday season, I want to take a moment to wish you and your family a wonderful Thanksgiving break next week. I hope you’re able to enjoy some meaningful time with your high schooler and make the most of this opportunity to rest, recharge, and reconnect.
When we return from break, we will have just three weeks remaining in the semester. This is an important stretch for students, and strong attendance and engagement will be essential to helping them finish the semester on a positive note. We appreciate your support in encouraging your student to be present, focused, and committed during these final weeks.
Keep in mind that there are no exemptions for fall semester exams. All students in grades 10–12 are expected to take their exams this semester. We have every student participate in order to maintain consistency, fairness, and academic rigor across our school.
I also want to let you know that ATLAS Fall Interim scores are now available for all 10th grade students in the Parent Portal on the ATLAS website. Please take a few minutes to review your child’s progress. These assessments provide valuable insight into how your student is performing and where they may need additional support as we move into the second half of the year.
Act 724 of 2025 expands the college and career readiness assessment options available to Arkansas students beginning in the 2025–2026 school year. As part of this law, all 11th graders may choose one state-funded assessment, the ACT, SAT, or CLT to help them prepare for life after high school. The CLT test is fairly new so I included a link to their website if you need more information about it. Each assessment provides valuable information about a student’s readiness for college or career pathways, and the right choice may depend on your child’s goals, strengths, and future plans. We encourage you to have a conversation with your student about which test they should sign up for so they can select the assessment that best aligns with their postsecondary plans. If you have questions or need guidance, please reach out—we are happy to help. As a school we must submit the student’ choice on or before December 12th. Once the decision is made the state will not let us allow students to change their option.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. We hope you enjoy a safe, restful, and joy-filled Thanksgiving break.
