lhhs happenings

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I hope you and your student enjoy the upcoming time change this weekend—an extra hour of weekend is always a great thing.

As we move deeper into fall, we want to take a moment to welcome this new season with you. The cooler weather, changing colors, and upcoming holidays bring a great time to slow down, reflect, and enjoy the many activities happening around campus. It’s been wonderful to see our students settling into routines, supporting one another, and growing both academically and personally.

With Veterans Day approaching, we want to express how thankful we are to work alongside the veterans who serve as part of our Lake Hamilton High School family—James Lively, Steven Wages, Cody Tolleson, and Javier Ibarra. Their dedication and example make a lasting impact on our students every day. We are also proud of our four current seniors who completed boot camp between their junior and senior year, demonstrating incredible commitment, discipline, and courage. We are truly grateful for their service and leadership.

A few important reminders and updates for the weeks ahead:

  • FAFSA Now Open: The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is now open for all 12th-grade students. Completing the FAFSA is the first step toward receiving any form of government financial aid—whether your student plans to attend a four-year university, two-year college, or trade school. Please encourage your senior to complete this process soon.  The link to start the application is here.  To start the process you need to create an account.

  • ATLAS Interims: For 10th graders, Fall ATLAS Interim testing begins Monday. Students will take four assessments over the next two weeks to measure progress in ELA, Writing, Geometry, and Biology. These tests help teachers and students track growth and identify areas for support so they can finish the year at grade level.  Once testing is complete you can log on to your child’s ATLAS account to see the results.

  • Thanksgiving Break: School will be closed November 24–28 for Thanksgiving Break. We hope you and your student enjoy this time with friends and family.

Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to a strong finish to the fall semester.  When we return to school after Thanksgiving Break we have 3 weeks until we are done with the semester.
