The LHSD is thankful for our wonderful students, staff, parents, and community members!
All Lake Hamilton School District buildings and offices will be closed November 21 - 25 for Thanksgiving Break. School will resume for students and staff on Monday, November 28.

TURKEY TROUBLE
After reading the book "Turkey Trouble" about a turkey who tries to disguise himself to avoid being Thanksgiving dinner, students in Ms. Oglesby's kindergarten class disguised their own turkeys at home with their family and brought them to school to show off.

WORKING WITH CLAY
Kindergarten students are making door hangers out of clay in art class. They learned what clay is made out of and about different textures. They stamped their initial in the clay. After it dried for a week, they are adding handles and painted them!

G.U.I.D.E. LESSONS FOR LIFE
Kindergarten students in Ms. Jordan's class are learning G.U.I.D.E (growth, understanding, interaction, decisions, empathy) life lessons on understanding the importance of personal and general space.

THANK YOU
Thanks to donations from friends and family, students in Ms. Jones' kindergarten class receive a free book each month. This month they received the book "There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Turkey". They read the story and practiced sequencing by putting the events in order. Each child received a copy of the book to take home and read with a grown-up.

CUB CLUB AND ALPHA PACK
LHPS has announced its First-Grade Alpha Pack and Kindergarten Cub Club for the month of October. These students were selected by their teachers for being all-around awesome kids and doing things the "Wolf Way".

Next week is the annual Lake Hamilton Food Drive that benefits the Food for Kids Backpack Program and Family Food Boxes that helps families in our district. Grades and buildings have been assigned certain items. See attached for more information.

Students in Ms. Jordan's P.E. class always stretch their muscles before starting any activity to ensure their bodies are warmed up and ready to go.

GUIDE FOR LIFE LESSON
First-grade students' Guide for Life Lesson for the month of October is about the importance of good hygiene. LHPS Nurse Andrea is visitng each classroom and teaching hand washing techniques and other important hygiene habits.

Ms. Richardson's first-grade class partnered up with a friend and read a book to them that they had been practicing reading.

PTO FALL FESTIVAL
PTO Parents and volunteers treated Primary School students to a Fall Festival on the playground Friday. Students got to visit a petting zoo, play games, take pictures, collect candy and visit with friends. A huge thank you to the PTO members, parents, and volunteers from the community that made this fun day possible for our students and staff.
