This is an unprecedented time globally and here at home. The Lake Hamilton School District would like to let parents, students, staff, and community members know that, now more than ever before, Lake Hamilton will be here for you during the 2020-21 school year. The safety of our students and staff is our number one priority. Our goal will be to provide the safest experience possible. That includes a rich educational experience with opportunities for social interaction and extracurricular activities while adhering to guidelines provided by the Arkansas Department of Health (ADH). We do not know every detail just yet but will continue to share updates on our website, social media, and mass notification systems when they become available.
The Lake Hamilton School District will follow the ADH guidelines and the Arkansas Ready for Learning report issued by the Arkansas Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) as we plan for re-opening in the fall. Our hope is that the following information helps answer many of the questions you may have about reopening schools.
The LHSD is currently making plans for the following types of learning for the 2020-21 school year.
Blended Learning occurs mostly in school buildings but allows for rapid transition to crisis/remote learning. This learning is primarily face-to-face but established in a digital format. Blended learning looks much like traditional school in that students report to school each day. In the event of school closure due to inclement weather or pandemic restrictions, students would transition to learning from home.
Crisis Learning is remote learning from home initiated by school closure.
Virtual Learning is a parent/student choice to learn from home full time.
