Computer Science Education Week

Computer Science Education Week is an annual event to celebrate the contributions of students, teachers, and partners to the field.  The week is held in recognition of the birthday of Admiral Grace Murray Hopper, who invented the first compiler and coined the term “bug” (an error in a program) after removing an actual moth from a computer in 1947.

During Computer Science Education Week, December 7 - 11, the Lake Hamilton Computer Science Honor Society sponsored activities and prizes for students in 7th-12th grade. The Lake Hamilton Computer Science Honor Society received a grant from the Computer Science Teachers Association made possible by partners at Infosys Foundation USA.
